Somebody has paid for your ticket

When we went to the Don Moen's concert, we sat next to a mother with 3 kids age 7, 5, & 2 years old. During the 15 minutes break, Chris and I introduced ourselves and start playing with the kids. It turned out that the concert was a birthday present for the 7 years old girl. She was so excited about it. I wonder how many other 7 years olds would love to go to Don Moen concert as her birthday present.

The mom then start sharing about her day. The traffic from San Francisco, where they live, to Freemont, where the concert was, was very bad. Then, she got hit by another car, whose driver refused to take responsibility for it. Fast forward, they got to the concert place and was about to buy the ticket. Turned out the event organizer didn't accept debit card. She was asked to leave to get some cash from ATM machine somewhere to pay for the ticket.

She broke down as soon as she turned her back from the register. She thought she has to go back home since she was late already due to the traffic & accident plus she parked all the way down the street. In addition, and she live an hour away from the place so she wasn't familiar with the area and didn't even know the location of nearby bank to get some cash.

As she walked away from the register, the cashier caller her, "Lady... lady...come back..."
She didn't know the cashier was calling her so she kept on walking.
"Lady with children comeback! Somebody has paid for your ticket!"
"What?" she asked.
"Somebody has paid for your ticket!" The cashier repeat.
"So here we are." She ended her sharing with her sweet smile.

What an encouragement and reminder it was for me to be kind and compassionate to others. I can't imagine how disappointed the 7 years old would be if they can't get it. Whoever paid the ticket ought to know what a blessing he/ she has been not only for the family but for us as well. May God bless his/ her heart.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself." Luke 10:27
